Madhubani is one of the many famous Indian art forms. It originated in the Mithila region of Bihar. Themes are typically drawn from Hindu mythology and ritual practices. Traditionally, colours were derived from natural sources and painting was done with twigs and matchsticks.
I made this artwork on a mud plate. I have filled the empty space with flowers, and geometric patterns which is a characteristic feature of Madhubani art.
Let me know your thoughts about ‘Matsya’ and do send in your own artwork.
